Objectives and Functions
The Malcolm de Chazal Municipal Library provides free and easy access to information, ideas, books and
technology that enrich, educate and empower every individual in our township diverse community..
The Council runs nine full-fledged Libraries. There is a stock of over 150,000 books in subjects
ranging from Computer Science, Philosophy, Religion, Social
Science, Linguistics, Pure and Applied Science, Arts, Literature
to History, including a Mauritiana collection.
A wide variety of magazines and newspapers, local and international
is provided.

For new subscriptions at the Main library please note that you
should call at the Main Library during weekdays only before
15.15Hrs.
For new subscriptions at Branch and Sub libraries please note that
you should call directly at the Branch or Sub Library during their
respective opening hours.
